Why People Like the Borla Exhaust and Some Dont

First of all, I am referring to a Borla Exhaust, mainly the cat back system because I am more familiar with this particular exhaust system. For those of you unfamiliar with the term cat back system, it is the part of the exhaust system which includes everything from the catalytic converter to the exhaust tips. This usually includes the exhaust tips but not the catalytic converter. Maybe they should have called it back of the cat back or behind the cat back. Anyway, you get the picture.
Without trying to sell this exhaust system to you I will describe how it is constructed. The Borla Exhaust is constructed entirely of T-304 stainless steel throughout for greater corrosion resistance. The tubing is mandrel bent to ensure smooth exhaust gas exit and minimize back pressure. The mufflers are a multi core straight through design to help illuminate back pressure and give the system a rich throaty sound that gets everyone so excited. The Borla Exhaust cat back systems include all mounting hardware for the do it yourselfer. If you are wondering if the system is legal in your state, the system is street legal in all 50 states. This is not a universal type exhaust it is designed to fit the vehicle you purchase it for. At the time of this being written Borla has what they call a million mile warranty, so I guess they believe in their products.
Now, for just a little information about the company. Borla Exhaust has been around for many years and are not a fly by night company with untested products. They have been involved with the racing industry for years and know how to get the most from their exhaust systems, with sound and performance. I think that is enough information about the company itself.
Now let me describe why some people like the borla exhaust and some don’t and may I add it is a very small group of people who don’t. You may ask how I got this information. I formed this opinion from reading customer reviews. These are very helpful when purchasing a product you are not sure about, although keep in mind nine times out of ten a person who has been dissatisfied will write something before a person who is very happy with a product.
The majority of people who didn’t like the Borla Exhaust thought the exhaust are not loud enough. From what I read and I really tried to keep an open mind, It seems these people probably wanted something they heard at a drag strip. Now the people who were happy with the Borla Exhaust loved the deep rich throaty sound as well as the ease of fitment. It seems the exhaust is quite quiet when idling or at cruise speeds which keeps you and your neighbors from being annoyed. When you hit the throttle the sound becomes exciting and the lack of back pressure brings your engine to life. Without getting too sales pitchy, people absolutely love the sound and performance. The sound clips on the internet can’t even come close to the real thing.
